I have published my first book. After thinking about it and researching the Amazon KDP process for a couple of years, I finally did it. After replacing a knee, I had several months when I was physically limited so it was the perfect time to write a book.
I wanted to start with something that was considered a “low-content” book, which just means that it generally contains forms or pages that the reader can write on. I record information about all of my pheasant hunting trips so it made sense to create a log book for pheasant hunters. From that came “The Pheasant Hunter’s Journal.”
It was a good learning opportunity. The Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) process is pretty straight forward and not really difficult. Using KDP provided templates it was relatively easy to build a Microsoft Word document of the book.
I also wanted to have a web page associated with the book that provides more information. The “Online Resources” page has links to various web pages as well as links to my pheasant hunting blogs.
So, the book is finished and available on Amazon.
